It’s an American tradition to celebrate important events such as the California Gold Rush. We in Big Bear are excited about our fun filled weekends of events coming this summer. OLD MINERS’ DAYS celebrates Big Bear Valley’s history and the lore of our early days.
The Old Mining Days’ entertaining activities begin on Sunday, May 26th with the Sunday night Miss Clementine Scholarship Pageant and the Brent Payne Concert.
“Old Miners’ Days – 2013″ will host the 60th Old Miners Days Parade in Big Bear Lake. We will be extending a special thanks to all police and firemen that protect us. Our Big Bear Thanks You Heritage Parade will be held Saturday, June 15th. It’s a local favorite.
July will showcase the Big Bear Chili Cookoff. Miners from all over the country will strike out Saturday for some hometown grub at the famous Chili Cook-off. This internationally sanctioned event will be held on Saturday, July 13th in the Bartlett Parking Lot. The Bluegrass Festival is Saturday evening.
Come one and all! Bring yer kin to the whimsical and wild Doo Dah Parade in Fawnskin that marches through the towncenter on North Shore Drive. Be sure to get a curb-side seat on Sunday, July 28th.
